I love to walk around New York and just explore new areas and discover cool/weird things that you could only find in this city. I also love the city in the fall and around the holidays. There is always something to do during the holiday season and last weekend we kicked it off with the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade.

The Tompkins Square Halloween Parade is basically an excuse to dress up your dog in a costume they probably hate and walk them around while everyone says “awwwwwwww, omg how cute!” at you non-stop the entire time you’re there. There is a costume contest and the creative costumes draw a huge crowd, reaching about 10,000 people this year.

We decided to do a group costume this year as tourists and our furry little hula girl. So many people were taking photos, I feel I now know what it’s like to be a Kardashian, that stuff is really tiring! Harley got so much attention by the end of it she was ready to lay down right on the sidewalk for a quick nap.

We saw so many clever and cute costumes! Here are some of my favorites…

Do you dress your pet for Halloween? Which parade costume is your favorite?
